The global skills and competency framework for the digital world

SFIA Approved Assessment Partners

SFIA Approved Assessment Partners are organisations that operate an assessment scheme approved by the SFIA Foundation.

Introduction

Using SFIA to assess the skills and competencies of a person is a very powerful tool for their personal development and also as part of an organisation's workforce development. SFIA is driven by industry and in particular for professional employment. The continual evolution of the SFIA Framework to meet the changing needs of industry, along with the breadth of coverage and the unique nature of the Levels of Responsibility, mean that SFIA is ideally suited to:

  • Professional development of individuals - throughout their career.
  • Enabling a skills-first approach for organisations - closing its digital skills gap and upskilling or reskilling a workforce.

All organisations can gain significant benefits from assessing the skills of their workforce and can do so, for internal and non-commercial use, under a SFIA Corporate User Licence. To find out more about internal SFIA assessments - contact the SFIA Foundation.

Any assessment using SFIA, or issue of a SFIA digital badge or certificate on a commercial basis must be under a SFIA commercial partner licence. To find out more about offering commercial assessments or mapping qualifications -  Contact the SFIA Foundation.

The SFIA Foundation operates a scheme by which a SFIA Partner organisation may be approved by the SFIA Foundation as a SFIA Approved Assessment Partner.

SFIA Approved Assessment Partners operate, and are wholly accountable for, their own assessment scheme which must satisfy the requirements set out by the SFIA Foundation. Provided those requirements are satisfied, and a digital credential issued, then the assessments can be considered to be SFIA Approved Assessments. It should be noted that approval by the SFIA Foundation may be withdrawn if a scheme fails to maintain the quality of the assessments.

While many organisation have been conducting 'SFIA Assessments' for many years - this approval scheme is relatively new - priority will be given to existing SFIA Accredited Partners in becoming SFIA Approved Assessment Partners.

Note:
1. Only assessments that result in the issue of a digital credential showing The SFIA Foundation Endorsement are SFIA Approved Assessments.(Currently only the only platform supported for this purpose is Credly)
2. No 'certificate', other than a digital badge, should give the impression that they are approved or endorsed in any way.
*APSC have exceptions to these rules as the scheme is entirely internal and not a commercial offering.
