Blockchain skills in SFIA
SFIA describes skills required to assess, plan and execute a Blockchain project. Use SFIA to identify your skills gaps and plan the development of required blockchain skills and knowledge.
Blockchain explained - what it is and isn’t, and why it matters
From a skills and competency perspective...
- We have looked at Blockchain in the SFIA 8 consultation
- Our working assumption is that "Blockchain" is a not an additional set of SFIA skills
- It is best treated as the application of a new technology
- Using the SFIA capability model - see graphic - we can identify many SFIA skills which can be applied
- People with these skills will need some new knowledge in Blockchain technologies
- Some knowledge will be technical - e.g related to security, programming, APIs, data management
- Other knowledge required will be commercial, business and industry focussed
- More details on how SFIA combines knowledge, skills and experience is here.
"Despite the hype, blockchain is still an immature technology, with a market that is still nascent and a clear recipe for success that has not yet emerged"
