#1306 Inclusion of Organisational Change Management (OCM) aspects in ORDI, OCDV and CIPM change request accepted

Currently these skills lack any specific mention of OCM and stakeholder management.

Many organisations that I work with talk a lot about organisational change management (OCM) and how vital it is to ensuring the success of any organisational or business change into an organisation.  The reference doesn't require a lot of detail but I think that it does need to be called out.  Am happy to come up with some sample text for these skills if this is useful.

Current status of this request: accepted

What we decided

Organisational change management is important. SFIA 7 has 2 skills which refer to change management. CHMG and CIPM.

What we changed

After review of options - CIPM has been re-named, with updated and new skill level descriptions.

Thanks Michael - happy to take you up on your offer to come up with some sample text.

I think it would be great to have more obvious reference to Organisational Change Management - with an emphasis on the people side of change .

CIPM currently has an emphasis on business operations - with a view on the future state - including levels that match change management maturity and the ability to customise and scale change management initiatives converged with the programme/project plans and leadership/sponsorship - would be interesting to see. A Level 4 I suspect would emerge from these considerations.

ORDI - seems to have a fair emphasis on OCM - but I can see there could be room for more - something stronger, more specific perhaps about preparing and supporting sponsors, leaders, managers ...

I'm mulling over the question on whether there needs to be a separate OCM skill or how OCM is weaved throughout these, and maybe even other skills ...

Got me thinking :-)
