#1585 SFIA 10 position on AI capability change request pending
How should SFIA 10 structurally accommodate AI capability — as a standalone skill category, embedded within existing skills, expressed through generic attributes, or some combination?
Suggestions raised through the consultation took a range of views on how SFIA 10 should reflect AI. The diversity of views — and the structural implications of each — make this one of the defining design questions for SFIA 10. The position on this question will shape how other AI-related Change Requests (CRs) are evaluated.
Possible directions include:
- AI as a standalone skill category in SFIA 10
- AI embedded as practice context within multiple existing skills
- AI fluency expressed as a generic attribute or behavioural factor
- A combination e.g. embedded in existing skills plus a small set of new specialist AI skills
This CR is a position question rather than a single change proposition. It is the umbrella under which related AI CRs sit.
