#1589 Consider updating existing SFIA skills to reflect AI's impact on professional practice change request pending
Many existing SFIA skills now involve professional practice in which AI tools play a significant role, and skill descriptors may need updating to reflect this.
significant role, and skill descriptors may need updating to reflect this.
Examples raised included the AI transformation of skills such as data analysis, architecture, business analysis, programming/software development and testing; the need for descriptors to reflect modern practice rather than pre-AI ways of working; and a structured assessment of which skills are most affected by AI.
This has an impact across multiple existing skills rather than a single change. It may need a systematic approach, e.g. a typology of how AI affects each skill, rather than skill-by-skill amendment.
