Facilities encompass diverse environments that house and support technology infrastructure including data centres, telecommunications facilities, operational technology (OT) environments, manufacturing technology facilities, research and testing laboratories, control rooms, and edge computing locations.

Activities may include, but are not limited to:

  • implementing and overseeing facility management tools and systems (including data centre infrastructure management)
  • provisioning and managing the physical environment, including power, space, cooling and environmental controls
  • planning and managing capacity for critical infrastructure to meet current and forecast demand
  • ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, electrical safety policies and physical access controls
  • analysing environmental data and energy usage to inform decision-making
  • formulating and implementing sustainability strategies for technology facilities
  • coordinating facilities activities to support operational requirements

Facilities management: Level 2

Level 2 - Assist: Essence of the level: Provides assistance to others, works under routine supervision, and uses their discretion to address routine problems. Actively learns through training and on-the-job experiences.
