#1604 Performance management PEMT - Review the skill-name and overall description change request pending

The skill-name and overall description for Performance management (PEMT) need to reflect, and focus on, its relevance to line management and task management.

Managing a team or an individual is a common aspect of many organisational roles. Aspects of this, such as assigning tasks, setting objectives, monitoring results, etc., are covered by the SFIA skill, 'Performance management' (PEMT).

For a SFIA user browsing the framework (when assessing an individual or profiling a role), the skill-name 'Performance management' doesn't catch the eye, as relating to line-management, team-leading or supervisory roles.

'Performance management' may be taken to mean driving the overall business or may be used in organisations to refer to remedial measures for under-performing staff.

This change request is to consider an alternative skill name for 'Performance management'.  'Line management' is immediately recognisable but sounds old-fashioned and would not fit dynamic team cultures.

Aside from the skill-name, the overall skill description for PEMT needs to capture better what it's about. My suggestion is:

"Developing individuals and workgroups to meet agreed objectives with measurable results to deliver organisational performance."

Proposed change applies to Performance management
