Webinar: Implementing SFIA for work-integrated learning – what we’ve learned
Join us for a webinar exploring how universities are implementing SFIA to support work-integrated learning.
Work-integrated learning presents distinctive challenges — from assessing student competencies in diverse workplace contexts to supporting both academic and workplace supervisors. In this 60-minute session, practitioners from two universities share how they’ve addressed these challenges in practice.
Speakers
- Fraser Macdonald, Teaching Fellow, University of Strathclyde
- Martin Caminada, Lecturer, Cardiff University
The session will cover:
- an introduction to SFIA and its role in higher education
- examples from institutional practice
- key decisions around learning outcomes, assessment, supervision, and logistics
- discussion, Q&A, and future developments
Fraser and Martin are keen to hear about the experiences of others and and would like to develop a community resource to share good practices in this area.
- To support this work, the presenters have developed a set of 21 guiding questions - a practical resource to help academic teams think through key design decisions and develop coherent, flexible SFIA-based approaches to workplace learning.
