Nutzung und Lizenzierung von SFIA
The SFIA Foundation maintains and distributes SFIA through a licensing system. For personal career development and for the majority of internal use for human resources management, SFIA is available free of charge. Other uses may require other licenses, which may incur a small fee.
Without a special, paid licence from the SFIA Foundation, the following are prohibited:
- using SFIA to support the sale or marketing of a product or service;
- use of SFIA for external certifications or attestations;
- Using SFIA to promote a company or organisation, including the use of pricing tables, the distribution of such material in electronic or printed form to other organisations (including group or sister companies)
- Use of SFIA in a large, distributed organisation;
- Translation of SFIA into another language or language variant and distribution of this version.
Separate licensing is possible for the use of SFIA on a large scale. This is particularly attractive if a country wants to use SFIA's global common reference model as the basis for its broad-based skills and competences initiatives. Licensing includes:
- One license for the entire public sector
- One license for the entire country
As a not-for-profit organisation, the SFIA Foundation does not seek commercial profit beyond its own needs. All proceeds will be used to develop, maintain, make available, and support the framework's involvement in organizations and use by individuals around the world through the global ecosystem. Our license terms reflect that our intellectual property has an actual value. Therefore, we protect it through a very modest fee scheme for those who benefit economically from its use. The Foundation does not generate any significant revenue and has a very modest operating capacity, supported by SFIA's users, trainers, advisors and partners around the world.
The governance of the SFIA Foundation is carried out by reputable organisations or professional bodies and all information can be found on the SFIA website. www.sfia-online.org
