Uso y licencia de SFIA
The SFIA Foundation maintains and distributes SFIA through a licensing system. For personal career development and for most internal use for personnel management, SFIA is available free of charge. Other use may require different licenses that may have a modest fee.
The following are prohibited without a special payment licence from the SFIA Foundation:
- use SFIA to support the sale or marketing of a product or service;
- using SFIA for external certifications or credentials
- use SFIA to promote a company or organisation, including on rate cards, redistribute this material in electronic or printed form to any other organisation (even if affiliated)
- using SFIA in a large distributed organisation
- translate SFIA into another language or language variant and distribute that version.
Separate licences are available for large-scale use of SFIA. This is particularly attractive when a country wishes to use SFIA's global common reference model as the basis for its large-scale skills and competence initiatives. The license includes:
- License for any public sector in a country
- Nationwide license
As a not-for-profit organisation, the SFIA Foundation does not seek commercial gain beyond its subsistence needs. All revenue received is used to develop, maintain and make available the framework and support adoption by organizations and individuals around the world across the global ecosystem. Our license terms reflect that our intellectual property does have value, so we seek its protection through a very modest fee agreement for those who benefit commercially from its use. The Foundation does not generate substantial revenue and has a very modest operating capacity supported by SFIA users, trainers, consultants and partners worldwide.
The SFIA Foundation is governed by respected professional organisations or bodies and all information can be obtained from the SFIA website - www.sfia-online.org
