Documentation
Download the comprehensive and freely available SFIA documentation.
Available to download...
- a complete reference guide in PDF
- an A3 chart summarising SFIA skills and responsibilities
- an Excel spreadsheet containing the complete text of skill descriptions and levels of responsibilities - this is invaluable to copy and paste SFIA content into your own tools/documents
All the documents are free to get if you are registered on this site. Registration will allow you to select a free user licence.
Note - links to download the documents will appear on this page when you are logged in to the site
Many other frameworks are closed by design...
- You can only access the content by paying fees or subscriptions
- The content can be difficult to get hold off and hard to extract
- e.g. in encrypted PDF documents that do not allow printing or "copy and paste" of content
- The owners update their framework "behind closed doors" - before pushing updates out to users
Important - you do need a licence to use SFIA...
- The SFIA Foundation maintains and distributes SFIA using a licensing system.
- The SFIA licence is free for personal career development - and for most internal use by employers in the management of their people.
- Other types of use may require a different type of licence and may incur a modest fee.
