How to Use This Page

Use your browser's search function (Ctrl+F or Cmd+F) to find keywords from your original submission in the table below.

The table shows how your original idea was categorized into an ID, summary description, and cluster.

IDs with "M" are major themes, IDs with "S" are specific items from the original board. The numbering is for this purpose only - it has no implications for prioritisation or future consultation.

There are many different ways to cluster the ideas. For this purpose I was thinking what was common in terms of knowledge/experience for contributors. The clusters also have no implications for prioritisation or future consultation.

M09 Reconsider defining SFIA levels explicitly as skill levels I am yet to consolidate my thinking re a solution to this but do we review whether they should be defined as skill levels 1-7? I appreciate that would be a big shift but it is seemingly difficult on occasion to ensure prospective users truly understand the structure. Cluster 15: Marketing/Positioning
M10 Align SFIA language with HR and job description terminology To encourage more people to use SFIA, align SFIA with HR language instead of IT terminology. This will give better linkages between SFIA skills and job descriptions Cluster 13: HR & Talent

M16 Marketing campaign mapping learning resources like AQF, VET Resources and marketing campaign to promote mappings of learning resources such as AQF, VET training packages and industry micro-accredited courses such as Microsoft, and Linkedin Learning. Cluster 19: Partnerships
M17 Clarify SFIA applies to all technology, not just IT IT management in Airservices Australia is outsourced, therefore many Airservices staff think of "IT staff" as 'the other'. The description of SFIA, and its scope, should be updated to show that SFIA skills encompass all technology and aren't restricted to the "IT staff" silo Cluster 15: Marketing/Positioning
S01 Clarify how working within legislation fits SFIA We struggle with how to treat skills to do with working with legislation - not the creation of new legislation, but the more generic working within legislation. It gets a bit of a mention in some compliance (PEDP) and quality skills (QUAS) skills, but I wonder if it could be considered as a generic attribute - I think it would be applicable across much of the public service. Cluster 3: Legal & Regulatory Practice
S02 Add skill for interpreting and applying legislation New skill: Law interpretation - Analysing laws and appropriately understanding and applying their meaning (e.g. heavy reliance in public sector for the skill application and not knowledge of different laws/pieces) Cluster 3: Legal & Regulatory Practice
S03 Expand skills supporting legal, governance and sustainability roles An opportunity to expand on skills to support the Legal/Governance and Sustainability roles Cluster 4: ESG & Sustainability
S04 Add skill for external fraud management and control Potential new skill: External fraud management & control Cluster 5: Fraud Management

S08 Make attention to detail explicit in attributes or administration Perhaps include 'attention to detail' - either somewhere in the generic attributes or ADMN - implied in the latter but make explicit? Cluster 17: Behavioural factors/Generic attributes
S09 Add proofreading skill for validating AI outputs Add a new "proofreading" skill, to encompass analysis of "AI outputs" to vet and determine their validity or otherwise Cluster 1: AI Capabilities
S10 Clarify delineation between HCEV and ACIN skills Delineation between HCEV and ACIN is a little unclear as the latter is described as 'driving accessibility and inclusion in services and products' which is a core principle of UX/human centred design Cluster 11: Ux/Accessibility Design
S11 Update DCMA for all facilities, not just IT Update DCMA Facilities Management to encompass ALL "facilities", because there are lots of facilities which aren't part of the "IT estate"; the IT estate is just a sub-set. The current wording reinforces the myth that technology = IT and that IT is the only 'technology', which alienates and irritates engineers and technicians who aren't "IT staff" --- Cluster 8: Facilities Management
S12 Address growing cyber regulation and compliance skills demand Cyber, Regulation and Compliance Spike in required skills Cluster 3: Legal & Regulatory Practice

S26 Expand CRIM for all criminal investigation types Would be great to see CRIM expanded so it can be applied to all types of criminal investigations. We have heard from our investigators that the line between cyber and forensic and 'standard' investigations has become so blurred, it is unusual now to find crime without a digital element (either to the crime itself or the investigative methods) Cluster 7: Criminal Investigation
